Welcome

The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy (Conservancy) is a primary state agency in the implementation of ecosystem restoration in the Delta. We support efforts that advance environmental protection and the economic well-being of Delta residents. The Conservancy collaborates and cooperates with local communities and other parties to preserve, protect, and restore the natural resources, economy, and agriculture of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Suisun Marsh.

The Just Transitions in the Delta Project team is hosting their first public workshop on Tuesday, June 11 at the Big Break Visitor Center near Oakley. The Just Transitions project, which is led by UC Davis in collaboration with UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, and UC Merced, is exploring adaptive strategies to pressing challenges in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, including sea level rise, drought, and salinity management, using a public-facing scenario planning process. At this first workshop, the team will present the results of interviews and surveys conducted with a diverse range of communities and experts. They will also introduce and seek public input on a first round of potential future adaptation scenarios based on the interviews. Feedback received at this workshop will be used to further refine and model the scenarios, which will be presented at future workshops. The June 11 workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (lunch and refreshments served), followed by an open gallery from 1 to 5 p.m. You can register for the workshop here.

The Just Transitions multi-year project is made possible through the University of California’s Multicampus Research Programs and Initiatives to support collaborative research projects that promote innovative research with significant importance to the state of California, its people, its environment, and economy. WEST SACRAMENTO – The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy Board on Wednesday convened for its first meeting of 2024, approving a new project as well as the Conservancy’s Implementation Plan for 2024.

The Board voted unanimously to approve up to $715,180 in grant funding to Suisun City for the Suisun City Fishing Dock Planning Project.

The funding will help plan the construction of a public fishing dock in the Suisun Slough, located within Suisun City. The dock will be Americans with Disabilities Act accessible and feature benches, shade, fishing pole holders, and an educational kiosk.

Recording Available: 2023 Delta Invasive Species Symposium

A recording of the the 2023 Delta Invasive Species Symposium is now available on our YouTube channel. Presentations explored how connections within and among estuaries impact invasive species movement, how connectivity of different types can both help and hinder invasive species control, and how making connections among disciplines, policies, and actors is critical to effective invasive species management.

Since 2015, the Delta Interagency Invasive Species Coordination (DIISC) Team has organized a biennial Delta Invasive Species Symposium. The symposium is a forum for Delta managers, researchers, and decision-makers to meet, share and synthesize information, and communicate best practices and lessons learned.
